Hi There,

Probably just a dumb question.

What is the difference between Photoshop CS2 and Photoshop Element 4(say). Is Photoshop Element 4 is a simplier "version" of CS2 or it is just an add-on to CS2?

Can I buy and survive with Element only?

Thanks in advance.

By the way, wish everyone Happy Lunar New Year.

PS E4 is a simplified version of Photoshop. It will take care of 99.642% of your needs. Buy it.

At version 3, Elements seemed to diverge from a stripped down version of Photoshop, into it's own easy to use app. Version 4 continues this. As Rad says, in terms of what you can do and functionality, it is still basically a 'just about everything you'd need' tool. Personally, I use CS2, but for most of my friends and family - including the photo savvy - I recommend PSE. If you are really, really serious about editing your images, and maintaining the highest quality, and comitted to a life of learning the tool, CS2 is the way to go.

All though I personally use PSCS2, it because it is very hard program to learn but if you are committed then its worth it otherwise you might get very fustrated with it. PSE will do most of everything you might need to do with pictures and when you learn it then move up to the FULL PSCS2.
