I started the day with a sunrise shoot and on the way back to the car I noticed there were several dragonflies in the area. Several things I wish I had done differently, but I just made due. Shallow DOF, higher ISO since rain was on the way as it was overcast/dark out..no flash for a little fill and to freeze things... tripod... etc. It was a challenge to find a balance. All in all... a few keepers... but again.. more DOF would have been great. Next time! :)

Making due, improvising, coping with the unexpected, dealing with unfavorable weather. These are some of the things that make working in the field, as opposed to the studio, such a challenge and so rewarding. Yes, in hindsight, you could have chosen a higher aperture for more depth of field but hay the important point is that you've captured the essence of the moment, the beauty of that elusive and majestic dragonfly.
