5D3 + Ranger RX Speed + FlexTT5 + ST4 Power Tracking Issue?

Hi POTN,

So I've recently pulled the trigger on a PocketWizard ST4, FlexTT5 and a Ranger RX Speed with an S-Head, and I'm having an issue with the FlexTT5 power tracking.

I am trying to control the Flash Power Level of the Ranger RX Speed/S-Head via the Flash Exposure Compensation (FEC) menu within my 5D3, and am noticing that the Power Level defaults back to 4.50 (bang in the middle of 1.5 and 7.5) after one shot. This happens despite the FEC being constant at say -3 (where it should stick to the minimum power level of 1.5).

Has anyone experienced such an issue? If so, have you found a solution? Is it just a matter of changing the PowerTracking settings within the Pocket Wizard Utility?

Again, my current settings are listed below. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I think some of the new TT5 firmware are broken for the 5D3.
I have the TT5/MC2/Einstein and with the 5D3 i have the same erratic/strange problem.
I will teste with the 5D2 or try old firmware and i will update the post :)

With the 5D2 it works as it was intend :) ... but something is broken with the 5D3.
It´s very sad because the 5D3 as -3/+3 stops flash adjust almost all the range for the Einstein and similar with the AC3.

The problem is similar with the first´s firmware for the 5D2

Just to confirm, does this issue happen with the 5D3 + AC3 combo?

With the 5D3 and AC3 it work fantastic :) and it's faster to adjust because it as hard button :D .... but is another piece on top of the TT5 :(

I have received a reply from PW, we have to wait :(

"Thank you for the additional information. Now I know exactly what problem you are experiencing. Unfortunately, this is a known bug for some cameras and our radios. Our engineers are aware of this problem and it should be fixed in a future firmware release.

Until the problem is fixed, the best alternative that I can suggest is to use an AC3 ZoneController. The AC3 gives you the same level of power control without having to use the FEC button.
"

Cheers,
Pedro
