This is the biggest spider species I've photographed to date.
There were a lot of them on a dried section of a dam lake, they made their huge webs there, on long grass half meter above ground level.
Whenever I got too close they used their body weight to swing themselves back and forth from the center of their huge webs, making it impossible for me to capture sharp images. Its funny because I had to actually back off so they would stop, which was exactly what they wanted

Since they are at ground level in the middle of tall grass, its hard to isolate the subject and I tried to keep a reasonable aperture because any weak wind blow was enough to make the grass move and thus the web and the spider. It was also impossible to get a head shot, since they were all always facing down (no idea why).
Handheld with the 100mm, they don't fit in the MP-E 65
