Finally made the trip up to the Heather Meadows/Artist Point area near Baker. The cloudless sky made for a beautiful day of hiking, but left me with less photo opportunities than I was hoping for. After a short hike I explored Artist Point and then swung by the lake for a sunset picture.

I was blown away when someone actually recognized me from my POTN avatar picture while I was at the lake. Low and behold it was Eric (Snyderemark). We shot the **** for a bit and then shot the sunset. Nice to meet you Eric.

Enjoy.

What do you dudes think about the color temp of the shadow across the bottom of the mountain? Too blue?

Nice one, Robert. I didn't notice the shadow until you mentioned it. Good that you and Eric met up. I had shoots with 7-8 POTNers over the years, all nice guys.

It was cool running into you, Robert :) I'll get some of my shots posted up when I get some time to go through and edit them. I have to admit I'm not totally in love with what the light served up that day, but them's the breaks when dealing with nature :D

I wouldn't have noticed had you not said something, but it does look a *hair* on the cool side, yes.

Interesting question about the shadows. I wonder if the light coloring the blue shadows came from higher in the sky so they look bluer than the paler blue of the sky near the horizon. Either way it serves nicely as a cold border between the green forest and the orange mountain.
