I had a permit this weekend to hike Half Dome at Yosemite.
The day before we arrived, the park was clear, but by the time we arrived, the smoke and ash started to roll in. Tons of people cancelled their reservations, thus the trail was fairly empty.

Enjoy the smoky shots. I wonder how many years of my life I just lost by hiking in a giant bonfire.

Looks like you made good of a tough situation. I especially love the last one. Well done!

I had two trips to Yosemite and Mammoth scheduled for the past month and cancelled them due to the Aspen fire and then the Rim fire. I figured that since I wouldn't be fighting fires I might as well stay home. I really miss not getting up there, but don't miss breathing all that smoke and ash.

That isn't a woman's hair. That is a shot of a rarely photographed Yoseyeti. They normally only come out at night to raid campers tents. This one must have been really hungry.

;)

Great shots! Hope the smoke and ash didn't take any time off of you or your camera's lives.

Brave. I go up to Glacier Point frequently & watch folks hiking up The Dome but I have stayed away since the valley filled with smoke. Love your last shot as well. So cool.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.
