I noticed that a lot of L lenses had a price jump at B&H this weekend. Some of them jumped up 200 bucks. Anyone know what the deal is? I know prices increase every year, but it seems like an odd time and a higher price increase than normal.

Did rebates just end on some L lenses?

Could this have to do with the recent Canon refurb sale coming to an end?

They just dropped the price on several non-L lenses. Maybe Sigma kicking them in the nuts is having a positive effect on some overpriced Canon glass. ;)http://www.canonrumors.com …-ef-35mm-f2-is-usm-at-bh/ (external link)

The 17-55 is a nice deal at less than $900.

There is no price jump. The current prices are the normal prices. Before there was a price drop. Anyways now it looks like the right time to sell and make a profit.

I still cannot believe I got my 24-70 II for 1999 and 70-200 mk2 for 2099. Between the two thats 700 bucks savings:)

IMHO the 70-200s should be:

F4 - 649
F4 IS - 1099
2.8 IS II - 1799
85 1.2 - 1499
35 1.4 - 999
24 1.4 II - 1299

I think my prices would be more realistic. IMHO canon just has a 30+% unneeded markup. Funny thing is I'm actually happy with the 989 price of the 135 f2. Well it was 989 now its 1089

I like where you're going with that. Prices are outta control. 1479 for the 35mm 1.4 is just stupid. And 1749 for the 24L. I like to spend money, dont get me wrong; but Id rather spend it on my other hobby at this point. Which is firearms and hunting.

It's not like Yen is getting stronger against the dollar which was the case few years ago. What the hell is Canon thinking ?

Next in line 24-70 II for $2599 ?
