Went up my local Hill tonight, and decided to try some sunset shots, I have never done this before only sunrise. Love the last one myself. I think its not a bad effort for my 1st time doing a sunset. I can't remember last time I actually sat down and watched the sun go down :)

There is a big difference between 'experiencing' a sunset, and photographing one. Usually it's difficult to do both. The high dynamic range between the sun areas and the shadows exceeds the span that can be captured by the camera. Generally, it's necessary to use multiple shots at different settings, and merge them in post-processing.

If I lived near there, I think I would be up there frequently watching the sunsets.

I have managed to edit the photo in lightroom, never done this before, but am amazed by the results!

Nicely done, especially since you evidently were not experienced with PS before. I'm sure you can see now why I was advocating multiple exposures so you would be able to capture some of the burned out areas around the sun. With the controls in PS (and some plug-ins like NIK) you can vary most aspects of your image. With these post processing tools you will find that you focus more on composition, elements, lighting angles, etc. when out shooting because you know you can correct a wide range of factors in the captured image,... but not all. So you concentrate on the features you can't change in PS.
