I'm looking to get into video more. I've taken the suggest of using lightworks for editing, and while it's great for cutting and trimming it doesn't seem to have any color or exposure control. What do you recommend for that?

After effects and Premiere offer exposure control in many ways. It's much different than raw editing stills..not the same exposure control in post.
