Setting up PocketWizard TT5 + 600EXRT Combo as a Slave?

Hi POTN,

So I've finally got my Elinchrom Ranger RX Speed + S Head + ST4 + TT5 + AC3 combo working, and now I want to introduce a second light (being the 600EXRT).

Any idea how I go about in setting up a Canon 600EXRT + TT5 as a slave?

Ideally I'd like the S Head to be the master.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks :)

- v.

I don't think you want to use master/slave here - that's when you want one to control the other... the PW stuff is what is in control

the TT5/AC3 on camera is actually your master in this scenario

EOS R6’ / 1D X / 1D IV (and the wife has a T4i)
Sig35A, Sig50A, Sig85A, Sig14-24A, Sig24-105A, Sig70-200S, Sig150-600C

Thank you for the reply.

How do I introduce a second light? Sorry I'm a bit new to wireless triggering.

I've picked up a second TT5, how can I make the 600ex flash at the same time as the S head?

You just do!
Place it where it needs to be - background separation, rim light, etc... And with AC3 set to M you decide how much light it kicks out

Oh it wasn't working before, not sure why! Thanks!

Just to confirm, will the 600EXRT shoot in ETTL if I set the AC3 in auto? (assuming the 600exrt is a second light?)

Yes, it will ettl in that config... But if its a remote flash, you might want more of a say on how much light it kicks out...
