I never thought to turn it on.. I like the feedback and I have messed with it a bit more.. How does this catch your eyes? Im trying to keep the brightness down a bit, which is difficult. If I set the white point to the whites of her eyes, it gets really blown out everywhere else. ![]() I agree with the white balance comments. I took this photo a couple of years back and never really did anything with it, though I have always liked it, and recently I got the bug to actually do something with it. I may actually print an edit I really like and send it to her mommy. I now shoot with custom white balance profiles or at least some of the presets if need be.

Now that is a nice edit, even though on my screen the white of her eyes looks still a bit blue-ish, especially the left eye (her right). But lovely. Well done, Gene. I think it can look fake if the whites are too white so I tried to stay conservative. bob_r Goldmember More info | Sep 07, 2013 21:27 | #25 I didn't care for the partial head showing on the lower left and thought the background on the right was a little busy, so I cropped it to an 8 X 10 portrait orientation. I also thought the background was a little nervous, so applied a little "lens blur" to smooth it out a little. Image hosted by forum (661698) © bob_r [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Someone posts a shot, people come in and edit it however they want to improve it, and after a week, the original; person chooses a winner, who posts the next shot. Maybe this should get moved to the competition thread? lol. I am really enjoying seeing the different edits.. I wish my PS skills were as strong as my FCP skills.
