Hi

To access the prism you would need to remove the focusing screen and the only model I know that had a user removable screen was the 40D. Should you remove the screen bear in mind it is quite soft material and will scratch easily if mis-handled.

The prism itself is not removable in any modern dSLR (someone tell me if I am wrong and that there is one out there???) so you will only ever "get at one surface".

So perhaps the first question to ask is why do you ask the about this? I am not 100% sure about the current Canon lineup but not all dSLR have a prism.............my older 350D had a prism mirror structure but the xxD and xD series AFAIK are all true prism bodies :)

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

And as annoying as dirt, dust, hair, whatever is when it's on the prism, it won't affect (assuming it's not so bad that you can't see around it) your ability to take pictures or picture quality.

Ah! top of the range...............do Canon have a service centre in HK that you could take it to? As I think that is the only way you are going to 'get it cleaned'! Or as smasraum says you will just have to accept......perhaps until you need any sort of service in future and add a prism clean to the list of things to be done in Canon Service???
