It doesn't get super cold here, but there is the occassional night where it drops below 0c.
My normal wear is a liquid fueled, heated metal and glass box (car)
I am typically not out of the car too long.

But my typical wear is Kuhl Renegade pants, these are a softshell, and work well in winter and summer, they have DWR coating, and dry quickly when they do wet out.

I normally just have a light hiking shirt on, if I know it's going to be cold I will throw a thicker wicking undershirt on too.
I have a TNF Goretex shell for wet weather, and a zip in 100wt fleece liner for the cold.

I have Sealskinz gloves for the rain, and a pair of warm liner gloves (approx 100wt fleece) for the cold.

Headwear is taken care of with a Beanie on my head (with reflective spots on it)
And a "buff" around my neck/lower face if it's windy

If I know it will be cold and I will be out sitting around, I take along my "woobie"
Made by Kifaru and incredibly warm, it's a big blanket, that packs down small and light (70-200 2.8 size, and maybe a bit lighter)
If you go look it up (kifaru woobie) it's expensive, but soooo worth it.

Summertime is typically the same Kuhl Renegade pants, and a neat, dressy, lightweight hiking type moisture wicking shirt

What a bizarre thread.

+1

I think my new gear whoring addiction will be winter clothing options. Off to read every review I can find on new pants options;)

Really depends if it is -30 or 0 and if I am skiing or just hiking. Lost of variables...but I always layer up. Keep hands, feet and head warm and the rest takes care of itself.

That's pretty much what it takes, depending on conditions you want to select what suits best.

I'm always in a warm truck at work, so when I want to take some photos, I just get out in my work clothes and shoot bare handed until I can't take it any more. At -15 my Tamron 28-75 stiffens up and won't zoom or autofocus after about 3 minutes. Haven't used the 100-400 in cold weather yet, but the kit lenses last longer than the Tamron in the cold.

I don't own gloves. I don't own a single pair of long pants. I have 2 shirts with sleeves. I have a light windbreaker jacket for the bad days.

I live in Florida.

...and I hate it. Really.

Ha. I'm from Canada and I hate pants. I where shorts until mid October and have been called crazy. I have often thought I'd like to live in a climate I were I could where shorts year round.

-22 Fahrenheit during this shoot and this does not include the windchill. BBQ weather up here :D. We do get wonderful hot summers, they are just too short.

I use that same glove combo of Aqua Techs over a thin polypro liner. For rdmello, the Aquatechs have a slit opening in their index and thumb Neoprene fingertips so you can operate the camera while still wearing the gloves.

I have a pair of size M Aquatechs for the fall, and a pair of size L for the winter over the liners. Never had them fail.

I like the idea of layers and generally wear a polypro undershirt, a fleece zipup sweater (REI has some incredible values here), and a Patagonia windbreaker with a hood, or a semi-tactical jacket with a lot of pockets. In the winter, the windbreaker is replaced by a Marmot or Arctyrex lined ski shell.

Boots are low hikers by Oboz in the Fall, and Scarpa ankle-hi light hikers in the winter, both with Goretex liners.

Depends on which house I'm at when shooting. In Huntington Beach, CA I will change from sandals to real shoes, shorts to long pants and a light jacket. If I'm shooting in Lancaster, CA it's pretty much the same stuff just two or three layers of the clothing and a pair of gloves.

Remember, Stressed spelled backward is Desserts.:)
Suggestions welcome.
