I managed to capture part of the launch last night. I was at Washington Rock in Greenbrook, NJ. Great spot. Unfortunately, I should have taken a video as it was MUCH more impressive to watch. It turned out way way better than I was expecting. I was expecting a point of light going through the sky but instead it was a rocket with a large flame. Saw the launch stage burn out and the second stage ignite in what looked like a large explosion. First time ever seeing a launch and my mind was blown! It is a terrible edit that I threw together quickly. Dont judge! lol.

Nice shot, as is commonly said, "a picture is worth...."

I saw it too and was very impressed with the flame from the rocket. Saw the stage separation and wished I had taken a video, but I had just finished up my images of the Veil Nebula and had to drive about a mile to get to a location where I had a NE view. Nice capture!

+1, saw these on EarthSky, lucky you for viewing it in person.

How long between the bright image and you hearing the roar of the flame?
Or too far away?

No roar from my location. I was 245 miles from the launch site. Being so far away I wasn't expecting the show we got at all. It was quite large in the sky.
