Maybe there is just plenty of pad material on them? They aren't iron, they are stainless steel so maybe that makes a difference? I kept the contrast low, that may have also dulled the brights and darks. The highlights in the red paint are also due to playing with Luminance. A9 | 25 | 55 | 85 | 90 | 135

I'm not familiar with the settings in LR, but with the histogram in FFox, there's a lot of room at the right. It doesn't look bad to me, but personally I'd tweak it a little bit.
