These first shots are from the Friday Pre-Dream Cruise at 1/13sec.

1. 3 in one shot! No moms driving minivans! Life is good!

5. Not what I usually care for, but did like the way the blue-on-black flames come through.

The actual Saturday Cruise:

They always shut down Woodward about 8:45 just before the light gets good, & while I shot earlier, I didn't get much that I thought was interesting.

6. This 'Stang was the best of the bunch.

IMAGE: http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3778/9704578566_8f0803c5d5_o.jpg

7. This could have been pretty nice if the front was just a little sharper.

IMAGE: http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2885/9704578478_c027a551fd_o.jpg

8. And this Caddy, even at 1/20 sec. is just an every day average shot.

Even though you don't think so , the last one is your best of the bunch. The rest just don't do much. After all it's a a car cruise, not a car grille cruise.

Normally, you'd be right, & I understand that they won't make everyone happy. ; )
But that's not what I was out there for. Around here I can shoot sharp cars anytime, & the Cruise is when I shoot motion shots.

Agree Frank, it's all about the "hunt" & not the kill. Everything's sharp at high shutter speeds.

Sorry Frank for as picky as you are about everyone else's images, these don't have enough in focus and are too under exposed to be " keepers".

Possibly you're confusing what you expect to see vs. what I'm trying to show? ; ) Maybe this one will make you happier.

frank, as a former MI resident, car guy, and dude who spent most of his summers on WW, i can tell you that i like your shots.

trying to get "different" types of shots in WW is very, very difficult. i like what you've done here.

Thanks, David. As you know, cruising on Woodward has been going on for half a century & I'd rather capture the flavor of a Saturday night out there. Getting sharp shots is pretty easy for anyone with a cell phone when they're stopped or only going 2 mph, like in this thread that still has my all time favorite Cruise shot.
"Nightmare Cruise" with a happy ending.

:D As if that possibility has ever stopped anyone around here? Feel free! I knew what I was getting into when I posted these.

Are you still talking about "they", or the last one that I asked you about?

I can't say I'm a huge fan of the photos, but I can say that after a day of heat and breathing in exhaust fumes, I couldn't even try.

Luck you got to go. I haven't been for a few years.

That's OK with me, Mark. I'm a little disappointed that nobody else from here seems to have gone out there, either. Actually, the best time is the month leading up to the cruise. Next year, stop by "The Shell" at 13-1/2 & Woodward, kick some tires, & enjoy the show. ; )
