I like the chrome/polished cobra. I agree, it's not what you'd see everyday, but sometimes it's good to see some out of the box stuff.
I agree. There were even some nice GT-40s out there, along with herds of very clean stockers.

Sorry Frank, but the whole "Dream Cruise" is far too much of a clusterf*ck to be enjoyable.
I'd agree that, for the residents, the official Saturday event leaves a lot to be desired. Which is why I suggest that people come early in the week, & even the month before. The cruisers are out there all Summer: Pre-Dream Cruise Warm-Up July 13, 2013
But for people from out of town who never see cars like these during the year, it can be fun to just walk a mile along Woodward, kick tires, & talk to people. Which is kind of what the drive-ins were like decades ago when this whole thing started.
Anyone and everyone who even thinks they have something to show off arrives,
I don't mind that so much. Every once & a while something really cool like this comes along:

The noise and fumes are literally unbearable,
For some of us, that's a big part of the fun?
while the free-for-all attitude of participants is nothing short of anarchy... the entire event is nothing short of an anachronistic free-for-all of hooligans.
There are a few, like the a-hole in the black diesel pickup who likes to leave a huge black cloud that hangs in the air for 5 minutes every time he moves, but generally I didn't see anyone that far out of line. I always see herds of 4-6 police on Harleys passing by who don't seem to have much to do. Maybe if they all had paintball guns, they could clear people who don't belong there out of the designated cruiser lanes?
I'll be glad to meet with you and show you around.
Thanks! But in previous years I've walked Woodward from 13-1/2 mile down to 9 mile, & I pretty much know where I want to be now.
There is something there for everyone, & like most any other event, it's what the individual makes of it. Love it, or hate it, it's not going to go away!
