Hello everybody

Since i have the 16-35L II i must say, it performs extreme well for a (ultra) wide angle.

But im having some trouble when it comes to vignetting at 16mm. I know at its widest it is always an issue with wide-angles like that, but to me it feels very strong.

Btw: Im not concerned by a little vignetting as i always said, you can fix it in PP or it gives an image that special vintage look which i like, so it must be rather strong to be a problem for me.

The biggest problem is, that it loses so much detail and contrast in the edges that its rather difficult to remove it in PP.

Is it normal for this 1300$ lens or maybe i got a bad copy / user error etc. Ill post some images later this evening

For what the lens is, the vignette performance is quite good over most of the zoom range. At 16mm and f/2.8, you are indeed hitting the lens where is worst, with a vignette of over 2 1/2 stops. But zooming to 20mm or stopping down to just f/4 will cure that to under 2 stops. Even wide open over most of the lens' range the vignette is excellent at just a bit over a stop.

The 16-35 II is a little bit better for vignette than the 17-40.
