ok, so its not a single photo... but i would like to know what you all think of my efforts, does this work for you? all the photos used for this are mine, just photoshopped heavily!

was part of an assignment at uni (im studying architecture),we had to make a collage of our building, basically getting us to grips with photoshop.

thanks,

stu

I like the idea. The schematics/floor plan (2 dimensional) blending into the building (3 dimensional) blending into the people (that give the photo life). I like your use of silloute (sp). My only critisism is the building is blown out in pure white- it overtakes the whole image. However, I don't know the requirements for your assignment, so I can't really give a completely fair judgement. As far as photoshop skills, I think you've done well- I don't like the horizon being not perfectly horizontal, but other than that, it's pretty good.

thanks for reply, i agree with all your points. heres a quick edit, as for the horizon, it was level, just doesnt seem to be- also looks skewed due to the tower being at an angle but i think it leans like that... but yeh, the white curved thing throws it off... it was disturbing me too. anyway, kindof fixed that, and toned down one side of the building to give it a bit more shape...

I agree 100% with ajbalazic.

Meanwhile, you fixed the tilted horizon.

It's an amazing graphic. You did very well!

It's very interesting. I think that the lower right hand quadrant is a little too vague. Maybe the locals who are familiar with the building can understand it better, but I would need a little help there.

Congratulations!

First off, the various individual shots seem quite good. The building schematics against the nice sunset shot work well.

My only criticism would be that it comes off a little "busy" to my eye, although I suspect that might have something to do with the nature of your academic assignment. I agree with Robert in that the portion of the main building in the lower right hand corner is kind of a wash - is it a gargage? A shed of some sort?

Thanks for your comments.

I always appreciate what you have to say about everyones work Robert, you have a knack for pinpointing exactly whats good or bad about it! I haven't posted here before but i've been doing alot of reading!

I think you're both right about that area of the image. It's a covered entranceway to the building. Perhaps it wasn't the best choice of photo to fill the gap.

Chris, I guess i was trying to fit in as much info as possible. We were supposed to capture the 'essence' of this building, so i was picking up on it's creative side, It's just for us architects and a lot of fun stuff goes on inside! It's also an interesting social space with a gallery running right up through the middle to a glass roof.

Thanks,

Stu
