=he's gone;16284707]i don't think this really has anything to do with the purchase of the domain, rather it is a problem that occurred when setting up the hosting.
Those are two separate events. Obviously one could purchase the domain through any number of other providers and point all traffic (via DNS) to another host.
there was either a human mistake made at some point, or the automatic utility at WIX has an error in it's code. As an example lets assign somephotosmiami.com a unique serial number 111112, and GailDavis a SN of 11112. If an error occurred in the set up, a human might have stepped in to fix the problem and entered the wrong serial number (leaving out an extra "1") making the subdomain point to the wrong customer's site.
My thinking was more along the lines of WIX selling a domain that someone else (e.g. Gail Davis) already owns - albiet accidentally. Airlines over sell seats all the time anticipating that people won't maike their flight. Hopefully, that's not the case here and it's something that can be easily resolved.
