Wow, I really like this one too. Looks almost like pen and ink.

Thank you everyone for all your image tweaking during the past week. Time now for a decision so here's my roundup.

When I introduced this week’s game I withheld my own thought about resolution. My error when taking the shot was not prefocussing on the buildings. Consequently it is the immediate foreground that has the best resoilution. I wanted to see how you all tackled this fault.

Benitoite - Good saturation and contrast. Nice sky but the clouds have gone and the colours don’t look quite right. A good B&W conversion but, like my original, the resolution could be better.

Butts - I like the colour rendering in your first image and the sepia conversion. The vignette works well.

DagoImaging - Good colours but perhaps a bit pale. The B&W conversion is excellent, the best of all the monochromes.

Itsallart
- The immediate foreground is fantastic! But the buildings and skyy are much too pale for me. Your hedge reoval is excellent

Mozes - Much too pale for me and the lovely blue sky is just not there.

Navydoc - A very nice ink-pen conversion. The resolution is much improved.

Rrblint - I like both images, especially the colour version. You have tweaked the contrast just enough to give the impression of reasonable resolution.

The winner is Rrblint. Congratulation :-)

This is my version. I tonemapped the RAW file with SNS-HDR and then processed it in Photoshop. Sharpening was achieved with Topaz Detail. This plugin can be very aggressive s I used the "Highlight Detail Light" preset.

Thanks Martin.

HERE'S (external link) the next challenge.

Let's see how much of that feather detail you can recover. It's there in the RAW file(for the most part).

Tonemap in SNS-HDR (including Curves adjustment so the swans look right) -> Photoshop -> remove background goose and pale logs with Content-Aware Fill -> resize.

Mmmm, difficult bloody birds to deal with!!
PS, clone other bird out, exposure adjustment (probably too much) to help with feather detail.
Concentrated on feather detail, slight noise reduction in the shadows, then selective sharpening.

Unfortunately they NOW don't look very white!! :p

Take a close look at swans and you will see that what you first though was white feathers is, if fact, quite dirty!

Good version :-)

Okay time for the winner. All edits were excellent but I think that Butts is the winner with Stiga in second place. Congrats guys, take it away Butts.
