Workflow?

Merged the middle exposures in PTGui.
In PS I used Lum Masks to adjust tone and color.
Used NIK CEP4 to add a little extra contrast and then add some fog along the top.

Dis you use all the images?

Yes. Separately in AP I merged the 3 shot bracket for each side as an HDR and then merged the two halves of the scene together as a pano. Went to Noiseware to add considerable NR. Then back to AP to remove the people and add a few tweaks to WB, contrast and vibrancy, exported as a JPEG. I used to use Noiseware quite often but the modern sensors have gotten so good that I rarely have to use it anymore.

Thanks for the explanation. BTW, I did warn you about (small sensor) noise.

Well, I tried. But couldn't clone the people out as I wanted. And even I'm not impressed by the outcome, it's a little over my editing skills at this level :-) If I have time I may give it another try.

Maybe you should leave some figures in frame to give a sense of scale !

And HDR.
created HDR images from each bracket in Aurora 2018 and then stitched in PTGui. Then applied tone/color adjustments.

Hey folks! It's been awhile since I've been able to participate but finally managed to squeeze in some extra time over the last few days to play with this image.
I started with ACR then off to CS6 HDR PRO and it sucked with handling the ghosting so I used the 3 left side images through HDR PRO and I think it was the
middle expo. of the right side, then used CS6 Photomerge for the pano. There was still some ghosting of the people on the left side so I cloned them out.
I just kind of played around off and on over the last few days until I liked it then ran it through Nik Viveza 2 for a little more detail. Please don't judge me
because I'm not sure if I'll be able to (have time) participate in the next round.

A likeable image and you have highlighted the stormy mood. Colours good but the gold tops to the stones just does not look right!

A much better result! The figures add scale so I am glad you retained them. Gold tops to the stones don’t look right somehow.

A lot of effort here, Douglas. But, to my eyes, you have a colour cast.

Too much! See the guidlines for this thread: “And don't go overboard with the editing. So no adding in sharks jumping out of the water for extra coolness. The idea is to finish the photo, not to edit it so much that it's unrecognizable.

Merged 0Ev images in PHotoshop. Merged -2Ev images in Photoshop then blended the two merged layers for the cloudy sky and cropped. Cloned out the people, applied noise reduction using Nik Define 2 and bumped up the detail and saturation using Nik Colorefex 4. Cropped to 21:9 then to 16:9 for a cinematic look. Reduced image size to 1280 on the long side and saved.

In retrospect, I should have added a dragon. ;-)a

Just the kind of quality and expertise that we have come to expect from Gene. The stormy mood is weel portrayed but I am sorry that all the figures were removed.

Very similar to my result, but that is to be expected as I use SNS-HDR as well because the colour rendering is so natural. I am please that Sebastian retained the figures but I think I can see some ghosting on the right.

A very good result but I am sorry that all the figures were cloned out. Very natural colours.

The winner this week is Pebal and the runner up is Navydock. Congrats to both of you.

As I know that Sebastian does not take photos, I am handing the torch for the next game to Gene.

Here is my Stone Circle image set. After noise reduction and lens correction in Photoshop, I half-processed the 6 resulting DNG files to remove ghosting and saved the two 32bitradiancee file. The latter were then tonemapped using MS ICE before final minor manipulation in Photoshop.

Thanks. Here is an image that gets help from the dynamic range of the Sony a7r sensor. The SOOC shot is below. As far as I'm concerned, you can be as creative as you'd like with it just as many other edits have been here in the past, including my edits. Just be sure to describe what you did so others can learn from it since that's the point of doing these edits in the first place.

The raw file converted to dng format:

As a side note, my username is navydoc because "doc" is the nickname given to Navy Corpsmen and Dental Technicians as opposed to the name of a structure where ships tie up to. :-)

I'm not telling which is which but here is what I did.

On one of the images I used Aurora HDR 2018 exclusively.

The other image I used LR into PS where I used LM to control tone and color along w/ a solar spot and radiance.

On both I adjusted for vertical distortion a touch.
