Canon EOS 7d with 3 Lenses - $600 - scam?

I came across this deal in a local publication. No photos so who knows what's the condition or if it works. Supposedly >6000 clicks on the body. If it takes pics, saves them, and the lenses are clear and ef works, is this worth the price?

If you're going to meet the seller in person, you may want to suggest someplace like the local police station as a convenient location!

Also - this should go into the Market Watch Forum, since you are asking about pricing and not selling something.

Or it could be stolen goods.

If you ultimately decide to go out and meet this guy, at least, get him to write a bill of sale for you. It doesn't mean that you'll end up owning the equipment legally if they happen to be stolen. But, at least, you have a document to show that you didn't steal them yourself in the first place.

What ever you do in this shaky situation make sure and get a bill of sale!

Um yeah something is wrong one way or another. Also be sure to bring someone with you if you decide to meet them. Ideally this someone is 6' 250lbs.

I should also reiterate that if it turns out to be stolen, even if you get a bill of sale, it is not legally yours to keep.

Or someone 5'10" and 165 who is packing some heat!

There is a great thread on POTN about someone who bought a lens (I think maybe a (70-200) that turned out to be stolen. He lost the lens after the law traced it to him. Good outcome however (but not always the case). I'll try and find it and post it here.

Great outcome for this guy, but this is definitely the exception.

If there's any doubt I would pass - besides the moral guilt, you could end up out the cash and out the gear.

I'm always leery of anything on Craigslist that posted to the same to city/town... for example - Hartford.craigslist.or​g... Item location - Hartford.

I don't see the point in having a signed document. Such a thing could be made up by the buyer in a minute with some fictitious name and false signature.

If there's a conceled carry there, atleast bring a .9 or .45
