I have been to Kerry Park plenty of times, a handful at sunset and a handful at sunrise. From my experience, it has been much better at sunset than at sunrise.

This shot was taken about 20 minutes prior to sunrise last Sunday. Probably my favorite sunrise shot at this location to date. Enjoy.

You know....I'm not sure I've ever seen any sunRISE shots from there before. Kinda cool

Yeah Eric, I mostly see sunset shots too. Right now the sun rises right about at 90 degrees to the city so you get sidelight right at sunrise and then backlight very shortly after.

I think someone could get a really great sunrise shot here if they were to come sometime when the sun rises just few more degrees to the north.

Probably right; *I'm* not getting up early enough to get there for that from the E.Side, though :D

Me neither. I will however consider staying up really really late though.

That's a great image Robert. I agree with you about early instead of late.

Lovely images. I have been to Kerry Park more times than I can count but never at sunRISE. May make this a point of interest someday soon!
The early-morning fog we've been having lately could make for a nice shot!

Great shot! I've lived in Portland for 23 years and I've yet to make it up to Kerry Park!

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.
