About 8 months to a year ago, my office paid a photographer to come and shoot resume/bio photos for all our employees for our marketing materials. The guy they hired did an OK job, though the posing was a bit awkward and the make-up and post was a bit excessive on some people. There is a handful of people who are unhappy with their shots.
Last week, I was asked to shoot a small group photo for a marketing e-blast. While setting up for the shoot, one of the people showed up a little early, so I asked her to stand in so I could dial in my settings and adjust my lighting. I ended up shooting a handful of shots of her, and pushed a few of the shots from my 5d3 to my tablet via my eye-fi sd card to double check my settings. She took a look and liked them so much that she asked me to send it to our graphics department to replace her resume/bio photo. My company president saw the pictures, and asked me if I could reshoot her resume/bio photos. I currently have 3-4 people I may have to reshoot... Which is a little intimidating now.
The guy they hired had a make-up artist, assistant, portable lighting setup and was shooting with a 1DX... I just shot a 3/4 portrait using a large window, and my 580ex and a 24x36 peace of foam core, and photography is just a hobby for me...
I have lighting gear for my home studio, but I'm not sure I want to lug all that stuff to my office, and I've never shot with it outside of my small space at home, and never shot anyone else besides my wife and my 20 month old son (who are pretty patient with me, I must admit).
I also only know really basic posing, so I'm also a bit intimidated by that's as well. Just looking for some advice on this type of shoot, anything. Should look out for, etc.
I'm used to shooting just office events, client parties, in formals, and the occasional marketing shot. I'm an architect by trade, and photography is just a hobby. So this is a little scary...

. And second off, good luck! Post back and let us know how it goes!!!
