I currently have a T4i, been looking for a second camera in the 400-$500 range, I've played with several options. This camera will strictly be for close ups. Bit I'm not sure if I should buy a T3i or get something like a 60D or GH2 or G5... Is it just smart to stick with Canon since my lens would match, this camera would likely only shoot 50mm 1.8, so is it really worth it to invest that much or is something cheaper a smarter decision??? Need to decide quick as this shoot is next week.

I don't understand why you need a different camera for closeups?

Your t4i does video, change lenses. I still don't get it. But If you really need one, get another t4i: http://www.ebay.com …meras&hash=item5af509946e (external link)

I'm guessing, OP is shooting a film or a documentary or something and wants to get a shot from two perspectives, one close-up.

Correct, would you all another t3i (magic lantern) or t4i or something different. I know the gh2 with hack is great with camera
