Just bought a 405 Geared Head

And it could probably be a modern sculpture peice on it's own. Very impressed with the mechanics so far.

But now I have a feeling that my dinky manfrotto aluminum tripod isn't going to be up to the task of holding it up. I've been thinking of moving to carbon fiber so that I could have a large stable pod, but also not break my back, maybe a Gitzo 4 or 5 series.

What are people's experiences here when matching sticks to a geared head?
