We were out a little north of Laramie earlier in the week and came across this bull elk about 100 feet off the road. I stopped the bike. . .grabbed the camera, and got within about 40 feet of him. He was bedded down in the hard rain, and really could have cared less if I was there or not. And while there really isn't anything to gauge his size against, he was beyond a doubt the biggest frickin' bull elk I have ever seen! I just wish I would have had something other than the 24-105 with me.

Enjoy

Thanks Terry. I obviously would have rather he was standing when I took the shot, but that just wasn't going to happen. I've lived in this part of the country for over 30 years, and he is the biggest bull I've ever seen. . .bar none.

You shouldn't have a problem getting your shots. . .the DWR gentleman I spoke with said its a very good year for the elk population.

Glad you liked the shot

Thank you Lester! I was about 40 feet from him and he could have cared less that I was there.
