Not a Purdue fan, but I really like #3 and #6. Nice work.

Some quick C&C. I'm on my work laptop so I'm not too sure how the color is:

1) Not bad. Good timing, but need to bring up the shadows (too contrasty)

2) Crop tighter, increase shadows

3) Say no to HDR (especially if you are shooting for a publication).

4) No faces and cropped too loosely.

5) Missed focus and bad crop.

6) Under exposed, would be better if you had a shot with the ball already in the air.

Not a Purdue fan...

I'm a Notre Dame fan, just got the photo pass a week too early I shoot for ISU, so it was just a one time visit, but I tried to choose the better football form photos from the day, and brushing off the rust, I made a point to shoot both teams for much of the game, to get back into the swing of football.

I think I have the exposure levels dialed in now, things looked much better in print; but I'm going to need to refit the running back's helmet because he keeps using it as a sun visor, blocking his eyes even when I'm as low as I can go on the monopod (still not ready to risk going prone that close to incoming cleats)

I there was no HDR, I do shoot raw and just pulled it up from underexposed, but looking at it now, I can see how you got there.

What made 4 for me was the running backs eyes, but I can see how the loose crop makes that hard to find.

For 5, with the crop are you saying more player attempting the tackle and less room to move in the frame?

Football has there by week, so I get to shoot a more diverse sports schedule this weekend, but should be back at football again pretty soon, so I'll definitely be able to put some more of this to application.

For #4 I can see now that you were mainly looking at the rb, but he's too far away from the action.

As for #5, yeah tighten up the right side and include more of the defender. Either way, the main guy is out of focus so it should be trashed.
