Critiques appreciated, being a newbie and all! i am proficent in PS so i did some enhancements there, mainly brightening up the barn reflection on the lake.

It's a neat idea and I can see where you were going with this, the angle could have been better (more barn) but the light isn't really working, to me anyway it just looks kind of flat.. But I am jealous of the frozen pond... I would come back at sunrise or sunset and see what kind of lighting the sky will do on the pond... Just my thoughts anyway. Sari.

I agree with Sari, there's too much going on in the image to hold your attention. I'm pretty new too and still learning every time I take a shot. It takes time to see what makes a good image. Read about the "rule of thirds". Photoshop helps but don't rely on that to help your photography. Try and get it right in camera first then PS can be used to enhance if required at all.

Keep shooting and learning and getting CC will help.
