Let me guess-you pre-focused on the geranium so as to be ready when she showed up. She did and you snapped this, and then tried to grab focus on the bird but every time, she moved and you ended up w/ perfect focus on the ...background. And then she was gone! Anyway, that's my typical scenario. The hummer is good but the flower is better. It'll come, patience and as you said, keep practicing.

Well that pretty much sums it up. I can shoot Indy cars at 230 mph, but these little guys give me fits! :)

I think if you had used a faster shutter speed, the hummer's head would have been a lot sharper, it shows motion blur, pretty shot though Del.

Today I won a photo contest on one of our local tv stations with this pic. It was on WISH TV 8 in Indianapolis and the contest is called Sunday Snapshots. I was pretty happy! Shame it didn't pay anything! :)
