Used 7d price?

Well I'm in the market and lost a bidding war on a used 7D body.

It went up to 800.00 and I stopped. Did I stop to early? Not sure what they are worth now or what I should pay since it's an older camera it sure seems to be holding a bit of value.

Body only= anywhere from 600-900 it seems, nine seems a bit high depending on shutter count and care etc?

You were right around what a good one is worth, don't for get to check the for sale here in POTN. Good buys there sometimes.

I bought a refurbed 7D last month for $959 with 1 yr. warranty from B&H. Zero shutter count. If you have $160 extra the warranty alone might be worth it. There are good deals out there if you're patient.

There is one listed right now but I am hesitant to buy w/o warranty or anyway to dispute if it's not in the right condition as the description hence the reason I watch ebay and other stores online.

Broad range I'd say $800 to $950, depending on condition, included accessories, etc. is a good result.

Use the FB system here as a guide. Look the person up and see if they have FB. I just bought one with 28k, 9/10 condition, for $775 and add a battery grip for $125. I wouldn't pay $900 for a used 7d unless a grip was included.

I just got a 7D refurb from Adorama last month for $850 shipped.

I checked the shutter count and it was 17 clicks!

It was off their Ebay store, I'd keep an eye on that. It was on sale there for that price twice in the last month.

I sold mine in January for $900 (body only). It had approx. 7700 on the shutter. It was in mint condition as I had only owned it for 9 months. I would expect the price to stay in the $600 to $800 range for a while. The market may think otherwise. I included a 4gig CF card and screen protectors. The strap was unused since I have a BR strap.

I have a like new condition (bought June 2012) with less than 3K shutters that comes with a Canon vertical grip and and 2 batteries along with all accessories for $900; if you PM me your cell I can snap some photos and text it to you. I barely use it and it's just been sitting in my camera bag.

You dropped out too early. I sold my 7D recently which was in immaculate condition and with 4,890 actuations for $800....

So,in my neck of the woods there is a 7D with 18-135 (not 28-135) lens being offered to me for $800.00. Every nerve in me is telling me "buy it you fool"! Was thinking of getting a 5D MkII,but a 7D is more appealing....feel like I jumped the gun a bit too fast when I got the 60D (not that its a bad camera) when I really wanted the 7D. I see a 7D in my near future.

But let me ask - what would YOU look at and look for if you were heading out to meet up with someone selling you a camera body? I say body because I mainly want the body,will likely sell the lens.

Just get a refurb guys... not sure why you are chasing dodgy local deals. Not saying all of them are bad, but really, if you go refurb, you are going to get a high quality item from Canon or a reputable dealer with a 1 year warranty and typically very low clicks. Can't go wrong.

I picked up a used 7D this weekend from a local shop for $800. I'm happy with it.
