A quick trip this past week up to the Black Hills. Still processing, but here are a couple from Mt. Rushmore. We were trying to get the shots ahead of an incoming storm, but as you can see that didn't quite happen. As always, all comments are appreciated.

Thanks for looking

Great pics! On my vacation bucket list!

Do you think they will ever add to Mount Rushmore? Like, for example, maybe someone like Obama because he was the first black president? Side Note: This is not meant to start a political debate about any current or former presidents. Just wondering your opinions.

Thank you for the comment Jarvis. As for your question about adding another head to the monument, I'm not the person that can answer that for you. They have the room, but to the best of my knowledge there aren't any plans to expand the monument.

Now the Crazy Horse memorial is another story. It's grows bit by bit every year.

I wonder why they didn't put Lincoln closer to Roosevelt. Maybe because they thought it would look like they were kissing? The space has always seemed a little awkward to me, since all the others are quite close.

My guess is that the different spacing is due to the curvature of the rocks, but I certainly could be wrong. I strongly recommend that everyone take the time to see the monument.
