South Padre Island, TX

The whole reason I got into photography a few years back was to be able to take some pleasant vacation pictures. Here are some from a few nights on South Padre Island. The island is far enough away from where the Mississippi washes into the Gulf that the water starts to clear. It's beautiful down there.

Appreciate any C&C and hope you enjoy 'em.

1. 10 mm-ISO 400-1-125 sec at f - 11

2. 50 mm-ISO 100-1-200 sec at f - 11

5. 22 mm-ISO 100-1-60 sec at f - 6.3 --> Shot this on full auto! What I don't know guys, is how the image is so clear at f6.3. Any ideas?

6.105 mm-ISO 400-1-500 sec at f - 16 --> Pretty cool moment on the dolphin watch boat. Mom and baby came to play when we stopped.

Very good shots. The dune show could have been great if it were taken early morning or evening in order to produce some interesting shadows. South Padre is on my list because of the birds.

Thanks MadDog. It's very peaceful there off-season. And, yeah, I should'a got out of bed for sunrise shots, but that's a tough task on vacation.
