Er, I think you'll find that discussion of illegal acts, like smuggling, is frowned upon on this forum.

Great, I just got a flashback of the baby etrade commercial...

"...riding the dog like it's a small horse IS FROWNED UPON IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT"...

lol

Does any one know the best books for using and maintaining the Canon 7D?

I can pretty much figure out a lot of stuff, though tutorials and books would be a great help!!

This is a good book. http://www.amazon.com …1&keywords=david+busch+7d (external link)

If you don't mind spending the $39 for it the John Gringo tutorial on the 7D is first rate. He explains every menu, function, and option there is on the 7D and suggests several settings, and includes a quick reference PDF. I'll PM you the link.

I'm not sure how many people from trinidad and tobago there are on these forums that basically write the same...also his signature is pretty much the attitude that he had before...

I prefer natural light, which ever camera I get, (I already have some saved up already) and lens, it will mostly be natural light I want to shoot!

In some cases with assisted flash!

I chose the EF 8-15mm f4 L USM Fisheye because its a crop frame camera i am using which gives me the equivalent of 12.8-24mm on a full frame, and a great compliment to the efs 15-85mm lens.

The EF 70-200mm f2.8 L IS II as its the best zoom telephoto of that range I can find!

I don't know about you or your lens requirements.

I am fairly certain that if you wish to claim to be the lord and better than everyone else, that you should learn some grammar and spelling rules. Ignorance is not of sign of superiority. The reverse is more often true. Superiority is surely a sign of ignorance. See if you can change your signature to "I am the Lord of all that exists. I am above you all." before you get banned, again.

Dedicated APS-c shooter. Gripped 60D, 60 2.8, 10-22, 15-85, Σ70-200 OS and a big white something or other! Plus a 5D w/28-75.

A fisheye doesn't complement anything; its a fisheye. Sounds like you're looking for an ultra-wide angle lens.

The 7D has the follow significant advantages (IMHO -- I know there may be more). If these are important to you, go with the 7D. Otherwise, I'd choose the 70D
  • Better Controls -- You can adjust your settings quicker and more easily.
  • Better AF system -- This is important for any fast moving shooting situation (e.g., sports, young children).

If those features aren't important to you (or if other attributes of the 70D are more important, e.g., price, flip-out LCD screen, low light performance) I'd go with the 70D.

That said, I still am very happy with my 7D and will not disturb the small pile of money, that I have been adding to each month, labeled 5DIII and 24-70II.

If by "better" you mean that it has 5 modes whereas the 70D has only 3, then yes.

However, we still don't know much about accuracy or tracking speed differences in performance between the two cameras.

But someone actually compared the 70D's AF tracking to the Nikon D7100's and the 70D came out as the clear winner, producing significantly more keepers than the D7100 when using AI Servo:

70D vs D7100 (external link) (AF tracking test starts at about 8:00)

Now, how well does it do vs. the 7D is a question but its victory over the D7100 is reassuring.
It'll all come down to dedicated AF processor (7D) vs. no dedicated AF but Digic 5+ processor in the 70D.

I just took a look at the 70D manual, it does have the one AF mode that blew me away when I started using the 7D and that I thought the 70D did not have: 19-point AF auto selection with AI Servo AF, the manually-selected AF
point <□> is used first to achieve focus. (page 107 of the 70D manual).

That mode is awesome for sports, you can lock onto a soccer player, for example, and stay on him, even when someone runs into your frame halfway between you and your subject.

I stand corrected on that point.
