Hi all,

I'm new to the site, and fairly new to photography in general. I recently decided to put all of my favorite shots in one place. I'm happy to provide my (novice :) ) opinion on your sites and photos, as well!

Hi Emily,

Welcome to the forum. The way things seem to work around here, you won't get a large response with a request for others to visit your web site. Most of us are too busy. Your best bet for some feedback is to post one photo or link to a photo for which you want comments. People usually post their best one or one that's giving them problems. Be aware that posting your best will not necessarily bring accolades. There are many experienced photographers on here who will give their frank opinions.

I like your website Emily. Very clean. Very simple. The toilet on the contact page is interesting.. someone may look at that as "Comments / contacts will be flushed" ... so, you may want to choose a different photo there.. but other than that, I really like your layout.

Hi Joe, thanks for letting me know how the site works. I can see how a website is way more cumbersome to look through.

Thanks VA- this is actually the 3rd comment I've gotten on the toilet. My thought was that it matches my quote somewhat nicely, but I think you and others are right. I'll likely be switching that out today-it's been very helpful to get that other perspective.

Skimmed many of your photos, IMO very nice but they need more "pop"

Thank you for the newest feedback. Tmoore, can you explain what you mean by 'pop'? Do you mean the images need more clarity, color, or something else?

Very clean site. I think the navigation menu can be lightened a bit (maybe the same font color as "/photography portfolio". It looks good when you hover over it, but it's hard to tell what it is when it's not.

Are you selling anything or is this just for you to have a place to post some of your photos?

As for you photos, I agree with tmoore323 that they need more "pop". I think what he means is they're nothing special about them. Some are decent. Some are snap-shot-y. Your "savor" page is the weakest of them all. They all look like they were taken with your cellphone.

On your "communicate" page, the quotes don't mean anything to me. "A photograph is a secret about a secret..." doesn't make me want to contact you. "...the more it tells you, the less you know
~Diane Arbus" doesn't even make any sense to me.

Just my thoughts. Hope it helps!

Exactly, if you post one that you consider your best, and turn on image editing ok I'm sure you'll get more pointed feedback.

I'm no expert, but I really like the photos that I see. I am using a 27 inch IPS calibrated monitor and I think they are near perfect. You really have a nice site.

Hiep- thanks for the feedback. You're right about the font contrast on the menu. I changed it and looks much better. I'm not selling anything at the moment, just jumpstarting a hobby and putting all of my favorites in one spot. I'll take into consideration what you said about needing more pop. Perhaps I need to narrow down more to the 'best' ones to display.

Thanks tmoore and twincity as well, I appreciate you both taking time to look at it and provide your opinions.

In my opinion wonder, admire, savor, play would look better if they would be centered in colored rectangles vertically & horizontally.

Your welcome, and I still encourage you to put something up for image editing...

You can learn a lot this way, I know I have...

Agree, it's a reasonable enough site, good color, text, responsive.

What I saw was that on all the pages the images linked to the next level. Except the home page.
