I was asked by somebody to use one of my photo (taken 2009) in a directory (yellow pages) without any restrictions on time, media type and reproduction quantity. He said they would pay for the usage. I'm concerned about the 'lack' of restriction. Any advise on how I should go about this? I don't think he is asking for exclusive rights. Thanks.

Unlimited rights = lots more money. When people ask for unlimited rights, it usually means they don't know what they are doing. You should point out to your friend that paying to license an image for a format/media that they may never use is a waste of money. It would be better business to license just the usage they need and have a clause stating that additional usage can be negotiated later.

Thanks for your response Dan, I will clarify these items to the person. Maybe he'll appreciate it and might lead to something good :)
