Abandoned Mines of New Mexico

These two shots are of abandoned gold mines made during the late 1800's and early 1900's. Most of the mines that I saw were dynamited shut for safety reasons. This mine was off the beaten path and had barely been touched. Hope you enjoy!

That looks like it would be great for light painting. Fantastic colors in that mine.

I bet it would be! Didn't bring my flash with me though. I was trying to get in and out quick. ( not exactly supposed to go in them lol) The colors in there are amazing. Tons of iron ore and quarts.

The 2nd picture shows a lot of macro closeups opportunities. I see lots of colors, shapes, shadows and elements in there.

Title says New Mexico. Where in New Mexico?

They are in and near the town of red river. Tons of mines there scattered all over the place from the early 1900s. It's like looking into history!
