I really like it but the watermark really spoils it.

I watermark all images I post on the web. Actual prints I make have no mark at all :)

Hey no argument about putting a watermark in your work. Just throwing a suggestion, maybe make it while and translucent, resize smaller and put in a less focal area of the shot? Just a thought.

Hey there Blake, awesome capture! Was this shot here in Oklahoma? I've been on the fence about taking a trip out to shoot the Milky Way but I want to get a couple of test shots prior so I know what I'm doing when the time comes. I've tried within city limits but found too much light pollution to capture anything that I felt usable.

Thanks!

This was actually shot in Capulin, New Mexico. I have done some milky way shots here in Oklahoma, but they did not turn out this good. It's an extremely dark sky site with no large towns within 100 or so miles. Yes, this is a single shot taken on my 7D with a Tokina 11-16 shot at f2.8 iso 3200 with a 25 second exposure time. quite a bit of post processing done as well. Glad you enjoy!

Oh and I forgot to add, if you're looking for a place in Oklahoma to shoot, go far west near the panhandle or if you're closer to the east in Oklahoma, I would suggest Copan with is about 15-20 minutes northwest of bartlesville.

Very nice...I'm assuming you live or near areas that are pitch black? I wish I was closer to the mountains for these types of photos.
