Two things. The crop on the top cuts off the "Good Shephard" and the two emblems. Either include them or crop just below. Second, assuming that the pages of the book are white and not amber, it looks like your white balance is pretty far off.

In line with Joe's comment- the whole tint of the picture looks warmer than it should be. Takes away a lot of the crisp color and contrast that would be there. Decent shot as it stands, but maybe try taking it from a slightly lower perspective? Think that could be an interesting shot.

I surely hope, you're trolling. If so - that doesn't go together with ---insert imaginery friend's name here--- teachings!

Who exactly are you responding to with this comment?

To the OP, personally I feel this photo isn't a keeper. A more orthographic angle that included the entire stone arch at the top may have worked, but the perspective you've captured doesn't really look that appealing to me. It's just not interesting or captivating. Perhaps a closer shot focusing on the book would have made for a more interesting image, but as it currently stands, I'd say this photo isn't really worth hanging onto.

The only other thing I can see wrong, other than the white balance, is it needs straightening, which means you'll end up cropping it a little.

You should have taken this from a bit further away, Paul. The alfa and omega are "halved" and so is the top banner. Also there is a slght tilt that should be straightened. Cannot say if the white balance is off as I do not know the scene, but it looks like it. If you shot RAW that wouldn't be much of a problem to correct it - and other wise shoot again with a custom white balance setting (based on a grey card or piece of white paper).
