First, an off-topic question.... Google SketchUp?

So, you guys don't think that in a space that size that white walls would have spill issues from the reflected light?

It depends on how far you have your light(s) from the subject and how controlled they are (grids).

I shoot in a small studio (11ft long, 9ft wide, 8 foot ceiling, door on one end so I can shoot further out). My wife would have my balls if I painted the walls black. I find black curtains and panels work just fine.

Go ahead, spin the wheel.

I'm accross the canal just south of Ballard, the town Seattle usurped in 1907.

Yes

That's what I thought... it looked familiar. I used it to make plans of a workshop that I recently had built (12' x 24') ;-)a

Thank for the advise, I have now built a cyclorama on the back drop wall to floor.
I will paint this wall and cyc a matte or low sheen white, hopefully I will be able to colour match with a epoxy floor white floor covering, which will be glossy.

Did you use the primer for the floor as well?

Watched it (several) times !!

Might actually have to do something like this in the new place.

A couple of questions though .........

At the start (0.20 - 0.26) "we cut 6 * 6 studs to 24 inches to support the floor ....."

At about 0.45 "We placed each stand about two feet apart from each other.."

Now, watch the video and pause it at 4.24 and optically remove the pool table ...........

What is happening ?

Best I can figure out she is standing on the 24 inch raised floor (brown boxy-looking thing, LHS, between the pool table and the light stand) yet the DIY Cyc seems to be at the ORIGINAL floor level ?

So (having optically removed the pool table) if the shooting position is somewhere near where the stairs are, say about at the "H" in Handy, what is the advantage of building the cyc ?

As the floor is raised 24 inches, and the cyc has a 24 inch radius, her feet are at the join of the top of the curve and the "original wall" surely ???

Cheers,

Austen.

Very nice, thanks for sharing.

How far from the rear wall does the "painted" floor extend ??
(Answers in imperial or metric accepted :D !!)

And is your cyc curve based on a 24-inch radius (that'll be 600mm to us Down-Under) ?

Thanks,

Austen.

Finally, I have the study ready. Due to having a back injury, I have had to take it slow, but I have really enjoyed the build.
