But I'm not reti...oh, I mean yeah....retirement here I come. And in the middle of the summer too! Tragic.

Practicing for retirement, I took this tonight. It's my first bird image. I didn't have a pringles can, but I think it's ok.

No pies around here lately.

I started working at Nissan on January 3rd. Rob's birthday is January 24th. I debated for awhile, but decided to bring in some baking for his birthday. I made a big tub of chocolate chip cookies, and the guys went nuts over them. I knew that if I brought baking for Rob, the rest of the guys would expect baking for their birthdays as well. I decided to commit to it. Since then I have brought in more cookies, chocolate chip banana muffins, and lemon meringue pie.
Steve's birthday is on Wednesday. Initially he had asked for lemon meringue pie, but after I brought in some experimental ones, he decided that he wanted something easier to eat. After he waffled on what he wanted for a few weeks, I gave him a deadline to decide by, and he settled on apple crumble with (good) vanilla ice cream. Not exactly easier to eat, but that's his problem.
Steve is turning 30. And since 30 is a big birthday to celebrate, we're going to celebrate it properly. Tomorrow we're going to Pizza Hut for lunch to celebrate the last day of Steve being in his twenties. Then on Wednesday, we celebrate him turning 30.

Hey everyone, post your birthday for Mel to add to her calendar, and add your favourite baked dish for her to prepare. I'll start:

December 9th, apple pie.:-D

He hasn't bought the add on yet. Makes sense.

Oooooo.... it's got that engine. That sucks. I forgot that they had the water pumps like that. Bad design.

My mechanic called yesterday and said the gear completely separated from the water pump and the chain was just scrapping against the block. He's hoping everything is good.

I was happy our CX9 made the 1st 1100 miles of our trip, had to use it in manual a lot in Tennessee and North Carolina. In auto it was hunting all the time trying to figure out what gear to be in. Once it all cools down again it's happy till the tranny heats up. One day soon I'll drop it and replace it.

I see a lot of construction happening. Were they all checked for their union cards? In the digging picture I counted no less than 32 serious and 17 minor OSHA violations. Expect the report shortly. I expect to see all workers paid up in full to the Laborers' International Union of North America. Expect random site check doe to the gregarious nature of the violations.
