I don't know. MY experience with retired persons is that they last about a year and they are finding a job. They all say the same thing..."I was going to do....and now I'm done and horribly bored"

I frequently run into guys that have retired from the jail here. Haven't met one that's regretted doing so. Only one that I know has gone back to work, and that's for medical insurance and to pay alimony. Most that I'm acquainted with are also prior military, like me; I guess after doing 20+ in the Service, then 15-20 in the jail, you're about done.

Of course I'll have to keep my hands in the Moose Mosques, and on the Muffins.

My whole motivation for losing weight, my vacation is over. My f.i.l. lives in SC, and was the motivating/dick factor in my quest to stab him in the heart with a I got this weight thing handled thing. Now that I'm back, I just don't have that motivating drive that I did. Sure everyone says I should be that motivation, or my kids, it's just not the same as good old fashioned revenge. So I've gained 8#'s since coming back, and my best intentions to sticking to eating right have flown the coup.

Does this make sense?

Yep.

My best motivation for weight/shape was a girlfriend. Back in my mid-40's when that relationship ended, I put on 40 pounds in one year. Up until then I had been in the best shape of my life.

Try not to pack it on, Chet. As you know, taking it back off is tough. I've still got my 40 pounds.

That has been my problem as well. I have probably lost over 1000 pounds during my lifetime. I can keep it off for a year or sometime two but it always comes back.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

My, "Oh Hell No" weight is 250. When the scale gets a speck past that, I tend to do something drastic. I'm real close right now

I have a feeling retirement will push me one way or the other.

Damned tasty food. My wife said we can go to a nudist beach as motivation. I informed her people that go to them probably look like my 8th grade science teacher, and that's not a good thing. No if she offered me a hot coed or something, I may lose 50 pounds in a month and a half.

... motivation ... I may lose 50 pounds in a month and a half.

Reports are: your "Pickle" may seem an inch longer per 50 lbs of loss. You may want that for the nudist beach.

Motivation enough?

January 2016 was when I hit my heaviest, 250 lbs. I was working as a service manager at the time, spending my days at a desk and snacking out of boredom. I left that job mid-month, was out of work for 6 weeks, and then started working at GM. That GM dealership is super busy. I went from sitting at a desk all day to moving constantly. I don't regularly check my weight, but I noticed my clothes getting loose. By July, after 6 months of being really busy, and sweating through a record setting hot summer, I had dropped 25 lbs without trying. I ended up eating quite healthy simply because when I'm hot, I don't want to eat anything that isn't cold and wet. So I ended up eating fruit and raw veggies all summer. Unfortunately, I did end up in emerge with heat exhaustion mid-July.

I figured that I would gain weight back over the winter, but tried to only eat what I needed to, and not just snack like I used too. I definitely have not been eating healthy. But.... Dad just put a new battery in the scale and I checked my weight yesterday.... still sitting at 225.5 lbs! YAY!!
I'm hoping that the coming hot weather will help me drop more weight.

I hit 200 lbs after my first year of college, that was summer of 2001. So it took me 15 years to go up those 50 lbs, dropping half of that in 6 months was pretty drastic. I'd love to get back down to 200 lbs, but I imagine that is something I'll have to work at.

I've never hit the 250 on the scale. I am planning a healthy, exercise filled summer where I break this 240 and hit 238.

I hit 220 my first year in EMS, and stayed there for 10 years. I dropped down to 185 for what seemed like 25 minutes.
Now at 240, that seems to be my "stable" weight, but with my back and knee problems, I can't really exercise like I want to. And sitting at a desk for 6 years hasn't helped either.
