I finally made it out to the bike shop today, looking to see what's available and what size of bike I should be getting. 20 years ago when I bought my bike, the only sizing that was done was seeing if I could stand over the cross bar, and then set the seat. Over the years I figured out that the bike is too long for me, and I have too much weight on my hands. So this time around I'm making sure that I get a bike that fits me properly.

This is one that I'm looking at: http://www.bikes.com/en/bikes/fusion-29/2017 (external link)
They had one assembled, but not in a ride-able condition. There was another one that I was looking at as well, but I don't remember which one it was. They're going to put the smaller sized one together so I can try it. I'm 5'6" but have short legs. I don't want a ladies frame, so I need a smaller size, which they carry but don't put out on the floor.
I want a bike that I can ride on the road for a decent distance, but that I can also take in the mud.

I wish I had a city.

Maybe you'll find one in Alaska.

P.S. - enjoy your cruise.

Thanks. Getting up at 3AM to catch the flight sucks. Reminds me of getting up for work.

Except I'm going on a cruise; not going to the jail to deal with ashholes.

Well this is a fine kettle of fish.
I forgot the charger for my camera batteries (LP-E6). I've got one battery at 100%, one at 65%, and one at 0%.
Any of you Macgyver types know how to charge one without a charger?

Option #1 - Look for someone with a 7DII, 7D, 5DII, 5DIII, 5DIV, 5DS, 5DSR, 60D, 60Da, 70D, 6D, or 6DII camera and chat them up a bit. When the time is right, tell the of your predicament and ask if they would charge your battery. Most people are friendly and would be understanding.

Option #2 - Go into max battery savings mode. Turn off review or turn off back screen totally. If you want it on, reduce the brightness to minimum and time to minimum. Have camera sleep at the minimum time. Turn off IS only use when necessary.

If you're staying at a hotel or on a cruise ship, go to the front desk or concierge and ask to dig through their cords, etc. They usually have a supply of left-behind items. Chances are, they might have one.

Good ideas. Thanks.

I googled this, and with a usb cable with the other end stripped off, you can do it. I wonder if plugging the usb end into my android charger would supply adequate power.

Wouldn't want to have an explosion in my room. The cruiseline would frown upon that.

THis one (external link). Normally it only shows who has the best prices but because of the shortage, they also include who has gas in the fist place.
