It does have a lot less noise than the 5D2. I shot an event at our church earlier this year and rented a 5D4 and I was able to use my 100-400 indoors at f/7.1 or f/8 with decent shutter speeds (faster than 1/400 when I was at 400mm) at ISO 12800. The images had about the same amount of noise as the 5D2 at ISO 3200. The noise on the 5D4 at higher ISOs looks more like film grain than the noise on my 5D2 and 20D.....

Oh, no doubt. The noise characteristics of the 5DII are nothing to brag about but it's very usable to about ISO 6400 and I so rarely even go above 3200 that the better noise handling is wasted on me. But if the 5DIV falls to below $2500, I'm on it in a moment. I need it's better DR as low ISO.

Googled and had never heard of them before. Moreover, I'm afraid I'm still too dense to understand the reference. However, I'll understand if you no longer wish to pursue the matter. My apologies.

Try this (external link) stuff. It's amazing. Epoxy based and stronger than the wood it replaces. Very machinable and stable. Does not crumble like some other fillers.

Thanks I'll look into it. I wonder if there is something similar available locally.....

That does look promising and worth a try. Not sure what it look like when dry whether it look more plastic or more wood. The Minwax product is nice because when sanded it has a texture of wood. Head down to the hardware store and see what they have. I have to believe that they have some type of epoxy based wood filler.

Unless I can think of a way of filling the hole that can be re-routed.

Duck tape

I'm you'll find a suitable solution.

As long as the transitions don't show in the finished product, it will only bug you that there's a patch. I've had to make patches and adjustments to some pens that I've made on my lathe. Most of these "design opportunities" stick out like a sore thumb to me, but rarely does someone else notice.

Puppeh! Corgi?

Are you the John that makes fountain pens that so many people were talking about?

Funny, I'm watching American Horror Story at this very moment, and this season it's about creepy killer clowns.
