I'm old.. I learned to drive in '67 Dodge Chargers with the 426 hemi engines..... 95 MPH with the right tires on the white line of the interstate. There was no daytime speed limit in Montana back then and my dad worked for Dodge as the service rep for the whole state. He had some fun cars in addition: the Monaco with the 440 4 barrel carb, the Coronet with a 340 six pack, 4 speed hurst shifter (a few years later), etc.

The problem with those muscle cars back then....the drive train was excellent... the suspension less so.

I had both the GTO and a Monaco. Not my pics but right year and color. THey were pretty old when I bought them. The GTO I think I paid $200 for and the Monaco was $100

That was my favorite car ever. I wish I would not have gotten rid of it. It was a beast, even old.

I learned to drive in 1976. We learned in a fleet of brand new Chrysler Cordoba's. Loaded including that fine Corinthian leather seating. They probably had the 318's in them.

My first ever car was a 1972 Plymouth Gold Duster. Got it in 1976. Had the 318, more than enough power for a car that light. Exactly like the one in this ad.

You got me to look up pictures and... oops. I screwed up. I learned to drive in a brand new 1976 Monte Carlo, not a Malibu. Still had stacked headlights, but I apologize for the confusion, inconvenience, arguments, fallout, collateral damage, spoilage, fungus, and mildew my mistake may have caused.

I had a duster as well but it had the 198 slant 6. What a pig. My first car was a 67 VW beetle

Man. I'm sittin here just minding my binness...

My sister had the 71 duster, in green. By the time she was done with it, it had dents on dents and doors wouldn't open. It did start though, first time every time. She had the slant 6, as well. It sounds more powerful when the exhaust is no longer connected to the engine.
