The bike shop that I frequent is holding a "Year End Celebratory Ride" this Saturday. We're going trail riding. :)
Food and drinks to follow.

Oh!! Riding on a frozen trail can be quite challenging.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

I'm expecting it to be! Bringing my volleyball knee pads along with me.

I need a new helmet, mines getting pretty old, but I think I'll wait till after this event. If it's cold enough, I'll wear my ski helmet.

Those crazy Canuck's would never let something like a little ice (external link) stop them.

In the winters that are cold enough for the bay to freeze, the city hosts motorcycle ice racing.

Kind of looks like this might be the year. :)

I don't see a problem with it. Ski helmets are designed to absorb impact, are made for cold temperatures, and cover more of my noggin.

I hit way higher speeds skiing than I ever do biking. My highest recorded biking speed is 45.5 km/hr. Highest recorded skiing speed is 72 km/hr, and I know I've gone faster.

I also wear my ski helmet when I go tobogganing. That's a dangerous pastime.
