Just got back ourselves with an apple turnover and the grocer brand wavy queso potato chips among other things. It's movie night.
Not movie night, concert night. Going to see The Allen Parsons project tonight.

On my 29th birthday I woke up with an inner ear infection. It was so bad that I had zero balance. I’d sit up and promptly fall over. Getting to the hospital was not much fun. Then they made me walk across the hallway intersection with nothing to hold on to. I had to stop in the middle to try and convince myself to rely on my eyes and not my ears. Got some really strong drugs! It's fine, I guess my other ear is compensating or I don't have an inner ear infection. subby

I can move a lot better now, and the muscle spasms have pretty much gone. Breathing doesn’t hurt unless I try a good deep breath. I can’t lay on my stomach or left side for more than a few minutes without them hurting. And leaning over a car fender sure isn’t good! A few trips to the chiropractor has really helped to get everything else back in place. Landing the way I did messed everything up. Some of the non-broken ribs got jammed into my sternum and didn’t want to move like they should. Adjusting them without disturbing the broken ones too badly was tricky, but he found a method that works. Pain is significantly reduced now. I’m really missing the riding. ![]() I rode into work today. First time in a long time about 25km with some horrible hilly bits, took 1h45m so i have lots of fitness improvement to go. I've left the bike at work and am on a train home now. I'll ride it home in the next couple of days. Ear is feeling much better. subby

Jill-of-all-Trades far from having everything figured out! ![]() More info | Oct 24, 2018 21:08 | #23669 At work I have always worn a dust mask while doing anything that makes a cloud in my workspace, whether it be brake/rust/clutch type dust, or undercoating/oil spray/paint type vapour stuff. In 2012 I was fit tested for a respirator to use while undercoating. Since then, I've used a 3M half-face respirator instead of a dust mask. I have always been teased for wearing a mask. Other people have worn them too, but there has always been someone teasing. And that kind of teasing keeps other people from using masks. Melody

Other people have worn them too, but there has always been someone teasing. And that kind of teasing keeps other people from using masks. Except at my current job. When I started there, one guy would wear a dust mask for undercoating or extreme dusty conditions. Another guy would sometimes wear one. No one said anything about me wearing the respirator. But now, that second guy has ordered a respirator for himself from somewhere online, he's currently waiting for the filters to show up. Today the new guy showed up with a brand new respirator. Mark kinda teased him a bit about "picking pink filters", but knowing that is the colour they come in. Finally, some people are being a bit smarter about their health. We work in a ton of dirty stuff and breathing that stuff is not good. Employers are not jumping on the idea of mandating the use of more PPE, but they are required to make it accessible. We are required to wear green tab work boots, and are provided with uniforms that we are expected to wear. Safety glasses, dust masks, nitrile gloves, and ear plugs are always on hand. Most people wear ear muffs as they work better and easy on/off. Specialty safety equipment, like insulated gloves for working on hybrid/electric systems, are mandated by the parent company. Good for you Mel for always wearing a dust mask/respirator. Charles
