I just want my face pain to go away. The pain gets pretty excruciating. He (the dentist) seemed annoyed when i called to tell him yesterday (don't give it your cheek number then). He sent a script in for an antibiotic. I guess he feels it may be an infection. Went to church today and was holding my face almost the whole time. Sure that looked good to the folks watching me in the front row.

Loaded up on ibuprofen when i got home and have been using an ice pack. Just want the pain to subside.

I hope you feel better soon mate!

I still remember when I did a photo gig for a bank some years ago. The days I took portraits of the employees, I can't even count how many of them said being photographed was much worse than going to the dentist. At least they didn't gag on me

Really? They must have never had a filling or a root canal. :):)

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Yea, that's not good either. But enough dentist talk. It's making my jaw hurt. :)

I agree. Lets chat about how I really don't like my job! I think the biggest reason is my hours. I work noon to 8pm. Not a lot of time to relax or get anything done before or after. I thought about changing my hours, but they need coverage more during my time frame, so I am sort of stuck. I miss working with people. I miss the face to face interaction. I'm looking for something else, but so far my perfect job hasn't show up yet. I'm too young to retire, and too old to start medical school...so yeah.

I'm ok with my job though the hours are way too long. The best days are when we get a new piece of hardware and I need to put together the training and manual material. Lots of shooting. I really like shooting with the Nikon.

I dislike being tied to a desk. On the forbidden topic of photography, the Nikon D500 caught my eye but my resistance is strong. My G.A.S. subsided +/- 2 years ago? This is a good thing. I have no reason to add a third system to what I already own. Maybe one day when the D500 price comes down for used. My job forbids anything with a camera into the area for security reasons, which includes my phone, so no more Spotify at work!

I have been sort of our informal staff photog for several years and they pretty much let me buy what I need to get the job done. I use to shoot with a Canon 5D and a couple decent lenses (24-70v1, 85L and 135L) but when the 800 came out I had a chance to shoot with it and was really impressed with it's capabilities. I got to say though, Canon's 5DIV comes really close. I'm really happy with it and if it was available at the time the Nikon came out, I wouldn't have switched I think.

Continuing on the forbidden path. I changed my mind on the EOS R and picked up a used 5D3 today instead.

The 5D3 is the best camera I never should have sold. Maybe it was just mine, but it was truly golden. I will own another one some day.

I was thinking of how much time the camera gear has spent in the bags that last years, and how big of an upgrade the used 5D3 was for me for less than half the money of an R. It just seemed like the smarter choice right now.

If you enjoyed the 5DIII, you will swoon over the 5DIV. I had a 5DII and really wanted to upgrade to the 5DIII but for the things I shoot, It was just a 5DII with a killer AF and a few other improvements. The final image looked the same and I could never convince myself to do the upgrade. The 5DIV however does it all. I think it's Canon's best all around FF every. All the feature and AF improvements of the 5DIII but with an upgraded sensor that rivals Nikon's D8xx sensors. About the only thing missing is a tilty screen.

My camera gear keeps threatening to upgrade to a better photographer.ߙ
