The Red Ring Tupperware Party has been going on for more than 10 years? And Corona finally killed it

I think it's sort of following the downward trend of dSLRs in general. It seems as if SLRs have become the camera for the older generation and pros. SLR sales over the last couple of years have been in significant decline as has this thread. Use to be rather vibrant and now we can go weeks without a post. :(

You'd think there would be more procrastinating happening with all this social distancing going on.

I realized my social interactions and daily activities haven't really changed, guess I have no social life anymore. But I've been getting a lot of play time with my bass.

Why the 3rd "B"?

Is everyone else as bored as I am in isolation?

Update:

Winter was, well, not very winter-y.
I started out covering snow plowing routes in the city and the one rural route that we have. I quickly became one of the go-to operators for the non-industrial side of the company. Apparently being reliable and a skilled operator is rare and highly valued.
Since our winter sucked, hours were low. The company recognizes that it's hard to keep employees if they aren't getting hours, so they do what they can to keep people working. My supervisor, in a management meeting, suggested that I be sent for the Basic Safety Orientation Plus course. This is an 8 hour course that is required for contractors to be granted access to the various industrial sites in the area. (Places like Imperial Oil Limited, Nova Chemicals, Arlanxeo, Suncor, etc) Along with that course I was sent for the site specific training for Arlanxeo and Cabot Carbon.
Shortly after this was scheduled, my supervisor was kicking herself for making the recommendation because, as she said, "Now the industrial side is going to steal you."
Well, a week later, I was called over to the industrial side. I still filled in for the city routes when I was available.
Moving over to industrial was a great move for me. My new supervisor is the head of the maintenance shop. One day of working in the shop was enough to prove that I know what I'm doing, and my supervisor was given permission to give me all the hours he wanted. I was handed the whole fleet of trucks to take care of, plus anything else that comes up.
Work was going great, and I finally decided that I wanted to stay on with the company, which they had been asking me to do ever since the first interview.

But then......

March 5th I broke my right ankle at volleyball.

Avulsion fracture at the bottom of my fibula. Probably lots of torn soft tissue as well.
Ambulance ride to the ER. X-rays. Temporary cast for 4 days. Appointment with an orthopedic surgeon. Been in a moon boot ever since.
I go back for more x-rays tomorrow. I'm supposed to still be non-weight bearing, but I've been walking on it for over a week now. I'll go barefoot around the house, carefully, while the boot dries out. Hopefully the x-rays will be good and I can drop down to an ankle brace. Not that the ortho surgeon will support that, he told me 3 weeks non-weight bearing, and then another 2-3 weeks partial.

So, I've been off work for three weeks now. :(
In response to all this virus crap the company has laid off all but the very essential employees for a few weeks. Hopefully I can get unemployment coverage.

My goal is to be able to wear work boots in time to go back when they call.

Sorry to hear about your ankle. Hopefully you'll be fit for fight when the whole virus crap blows over.

Starting week three here in self quarantine... both me and my wife working from home (which I usually do anyway). My wife's teaching at the university, so at least I've had fun with setting up a streaming studio for her for doing all the lectures and workshops through Zoom. It was good having light stands, clamps and other stuff... but studio flashes didn't work so well, so had to get some led panels instead.

And yes... it's boring. We have recurring virtual coffee dates with our friends through FaceTime... that helps a bit.

The whole situation feels a bit unreal. And seeing the whole world going through the same thing... it's like a movie.

Sorry to hear about your latest injury Mel, but maybe this quarantine will have some side benefits and allow you to fully heal. :)

Awesome. :) Is it N95, N99, or N100 compliant?

I think it's using the strategy of keeping people away  People repellent? Looks awesome though!
